Jacob is only 40 years old but he suffers from an end-stage renal disease. He is unemployed and has no family to look after him. Before his fatal disease, he was working as a clerk. He earns some money by collecting junk materials and selling them for a very low price. Now that his disease is getting worse, he is finding it very hard to supply all the medicines that he needs. The owner of the junk shop from which he sells his scrap materials feels sorry for the good old man. Because of his concern, he told Jacob about the project of the government regarding health insurance for diseases people. The owner mentioned about Medicare. Medicare is a health insurance that is handled by the government that aims to help citizens by providing them with medical aid. There are different kinds of Medicare programs depending on the case of the patient. Medicare programs generally do not apply for anyone. There must be certain requirements that should be met before an individual gets the benefit of a Medicare owner. Jacob then browsed through different kinds and realized that the Medicare Part A is the one that best suits his case. He even read more articles about it for him to know what the benefits that he could get. Because of Medicare, Jacob started to fill better and even work again.

Gold, Silver, and Platinum are considered precious metals but they are not the only ones. Slowly gaining popularity are Palladium, Rhodium, and Ruthenium. But how do we know which is which? Here are our top three precious metal facts:
1. Gold – It is atomic number 79 with the symbol Au. A rare metal, gold is the most malleable and ductile among other precious metals. Described as yellow, gold can be made into jewelries and coins among others. As a metal, gold does not degrade, rust, corrode or interact with other metals.
2. Silver – Is the most commonly used precious metals. Silver can be found in our utensils, jewelries and armor. High thermal, this greyish-white and lustrous metal conducts electricity and has numerous industrial uses. In the periodic table of elements, silver has the symbol Ag with the atomic number 47
3. Platinum – Just like silver, platinum is greyish-white in color. Rarer than gold, this precious metal is known for its uses in jewelry and watches. Aside from that, platinum is used in electroplating, as a catalyst in converters, in making of dental crowns and magnets. Platinum is the metallic element with the atomic number 78 and the symbol Pt.
These precious metals are not only for decorative purposes but they are helping us make our life better in their own little way.

Life can be stressful. But what makes it even more stressful is the lack of finances. We all need money to buy food, medicine and other essentials like paying the rent and utility bills. To cover our rising expenses, we strive to maintain a job, or even multiple ones. Sometime no matter how frugally we spend or how tight our budgeting is, our salary can’t cover every little bit of our expenses.
Here are some of the instances wherein you might need some extra cash:
• Medical Emergencies – Unfortunately, illnesses and accidents can’t be prevented from happening no matter how careful we are. Medical bills that include prescribed medicines, hospitalization, physician’s fee, therapy and others can get quite expensive. If you don’t have enough savings or medical benefits, you need to find other means to pay up.• Miscellaneous Expenses – There are times that we are tempted to splurge on some things like expensive wines, jewelries or gadgets that we often misbudget. This often leads to empty pockets and purses two weeks before payday.
In those tough times, payday loans are life savers. A small, short term loan, payday loans are effective in helping us when we require instant financial aid. In just a few hours, you can get the money you need.

Once you’re an adult, you finally get to taste those wonderfully concocted cocktail drinks with olives and fancy little umbrellas.
Cocktails are often seen sipped at parties either at home, in restaurants and clubs while you’re enjoying with friends and families. These alcoholic, but sometimes not, colourful drinks are sweet, salty and (hot and) cold. They are truly the life of the party making a shy person open up and give the wallflowers the encouragement to start mingling and dancing.
Some of the well-loved drinks are the Bloody Mary, Daiquiris, Tequila Sunrise, Shirley Temple, Rhum Coke, Margarita and Vodka Martinis to name a few. In making these delicious drinks, one will need crushed ice, shaker, cocktail glasses and some ingredients needed. A blender might be useful too. Don’t forget the cherry.
Don’t drink too much of these cocktails. Listen to your body and admit if you have enough. One to three glasses are the average person’s tolerance for alcohol. Remember, if you’ll be having a drink outside your home make sure you have a designated driver or just take a cab. Drinking and driving isn’t cool, neither is being involved in accidents or getting pulled over for drinking under the influence of alcohol.

Whether you’re planning on buying a used laptop for your kids or just for your back-up use, it is best that you read certain reviews about the specific model and brand that you are considering.
Though it will save you money, buying used laptops on impulse and appearance alone might even cost you more on repairs. There are a lot of factors to consider before buying used laptops. Here are some of them:
• If you are going to purchase the device online, make sure that the seller has a good reputation with no negative feedbacks. This way, you can be sure that the seller won’t hide or lie about any damage or defect. Make sure to inquire about exchanges and returns in case the laptop doesn’t work or is not up to your standard.
• It is best that you buy a used laptop that isn’t obsolete. If you can, choose a device that has only been used for a year or less and the model still exists in the market. Old devices make repairs and upgrade difficult for some of their parts might already been discontinued.
• Ask about accessories that it may include like headset, webcams or installer CDs.

Are you tired of constantly buying expensive beauty products that just doesn’t seem to work? I know I am.
I’ve spend thousands of dollars on numerous items but some of these “miracles” in a bottle are just not effective for me. I almost always find myself switching products even when I haven’t fully used everything up. Other cosmetic products even give me rashes and allergies.
I’ve read about different tips on how to enhance your skin, hair and other body parts just by applying your own remedies. With homemade remedies, you are sure that every ingredient is non-toxic, safe and natural.
Here are some homemade beauty remedies I’d like to share:
1. Cellulite Reducer – Massage a mixture of used ground coffee beans and virgin olive oil into your thighs, legs and buttocks for 5-10 minutes daily and let it sit for 10 minutes more. Not only will this reduce cellulite appearance but it also increases your blood circulation.
2. Shine and Body booster – Apply mayonnaise into your hair and let it stay for 25 minutes. Rinse it with a cup of beer and with clean water afterwards. This will make your hair stronger and shinier in just a few applications, just don’t mind the scent.
3. Lips Exfoliant – After brushing your teeth and your lips are still wet, brush it gently with your toothbrush. Do a side-to side motion. This removes dead skin cells and will make your lips softer and kissable.

Ever since I was little, I always loved to read. My father and my sister really influenced me into reading beyond teeny bopper romance, magazines, and comics. I remember staying at my school’s library for hours just reading.
Back then, I used to read about the Greek and Roman mythologies, classic fairytales, and histories of different prominent figures like the Red Baron of Germany, Che Guevarra, and Ferdinand Marcos. I also try to read updated Almanacs and Encyclopedias to keep me updated on even the mundane things. Aside from reading best-sellers, I also read books from smaller publications but with a large crowd following. My book selections usually vary from non-fiction, mysteries, fantasy, fiction and romance.
Now, I own a vast collection of books in hard and soft binding and magazines. I also read self-help and How-to-Books. Also, I am currently enjoying writing short book reviews for the virtual bookshelves that I joined. It’s so much fun reading book recommendations from other people who share your passion, or more, with books. With reading, I can relax while stimulating my mind and encouraging use of imagination.
My son has shown interest in books and I am thankful. I read to him everyday and I offer him lots of book selections, not just books with pictures. Hopefully, when he is older, he will read my entire book collection and pass on the passion to his future kids too.

Times are not how they used to be. Our economy is suffering and gas prices have gone up yet your salary’s still the same as it was two years ago.
Instead of eliminating your tradition, opt for cheap family vacations this year. Without spending that much money, you and your family can still have the time of your lives. There are actually numerous ways to bond with your family without burning a hole in your pocket. Here are some of them:
• Research for various vacation spots in your area or in the nearest state before you settle for going out if the country. Does your family enjoy the outdoors? Why not stay at a nearest Dude ranch. There are a lot of activities that the whole family will surely enjoy like swimming in the lake, making handicrafts, and learning horseback riding.
• If you want to spend your vacation in a different country, plan everything in advance. Many airlines, hotels and car rental companies offer huge discounts and promos for those who book tickets and accommodations months before the vacation date. Also, if there are changes that need to be made, you can do this with ease and only minor charges.
• Schedule your family vacation during off seasons, if you can. During non-peak times, hotels and airfare rate are down, saving you hundreds of dollars. -

Are you harbouring a lot of emotions? Do you want to express yourself freely?
Blogging is therapeutic for a lot of people especially for those who don’t have someone to share their feelings and opinions about certain things. With blogging, you can easily write about whatever you want to write about. You might also win some friends who share the same sentiments or ideas.
Blogging is like having your own diary. But instead of writing it with a pen and paper, you get to write down your thoughts using your laptop. With regard to privacy, just like a diary, you can choose not to let others read your blog but yourself. You can also opt for a semi-private blog wherein your friends can view your entries too. But if you are an extrovert and want everyone to read your posts then a public post will definitely suit you. Some people even create a pseudo character to be able to write about their deepest secrets anonymously.
Blogging not only helps you release your innermost feelings but it also helps you practice good grammar and spelling.
Don’t know how to start? There are numerous free blog sites that you can use. These sites are quite user friendly and offer lots of tutorials on how to go about creating your own blog.
